DR. FYNEFACE AKAH SAYS RIVERS STATE IS COMMITTED TO THE RESUSCITATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF SCHOOL SPORTS

The Chairman, Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Fyneface Akah says Rivers State Government is committed to the resuscitation and development of School Sports as part of effort to enhance not only cognitive but psycho-motor domains of school children.
The Chairman UBE Board stated this during the unveiling of school sports equipment and accessories at the Board Headquarters ahead of distribution of schools across the state.
Dr. Akah emphasized that to acquire knowledge and build character of future leaders do not end in the classroom alone but through competitive sports saying that families and the state should support various sporting activities.
The school administrator eulogized the unflinching commitment of the Governor Siminalayi Fubara administration for promoting all round educational engagement through sports and by paying up counterpart fund to attract support from the Federal Government.
He said the procurement of sporting equipment remains a testament that Governor Fubara Supports sports development and further charged schools and community leadership to take possession as well as ensure security of the equipment.
Radio Rivers reporter Baridorn Sika reports that the unveiling covered some sporting equipment and tools used in football, lawn tennis, Basketball, volley ball, field and track events among others.
