The need for Residents of the state to liase with security operatives to protect government facilities has been stressed.
This comes after the vigilante covering Aba Road-CFC Axis, apprehended a man who tried to vandalise PHED cable, connected to a live transformer but it exploded and burnt parts of his body.
Speaking to our reporter Nweke Sylverline, an executive member of Abali Community Promise Charles-Okabie lamented a situation where people vandalise facilities provided by Government causing the masses to suffer.
He commended the vigilante group that caught the vandals, appealing for government support of their good job over time as well as security to prosecute offenders to serve as deterrent to others.
Eye witnesses expressed optimism that since PHED Management promised to restore power in the affected areas, men of the Department of Security Services who took the vandal away should endeavour to investigate the matter and unveil other culprits.
